Gmail down?

From about 11.30 today on Google's Gmail service is down showing an error "502 - Bad Gateway" as shown below.

Possible that a giant like Google (which has all my respect) let down for almost 2 hours for a service like Gmail that level of usage is immediately after the search engine?

Another human error ?

User Agent Switcher, another useful plugin for Firefox

As the name suggests the 'User Agent Switcher is a handy tool that allows you to select from a list the User Agent that we use to navigate a site. This parameter gives some information about our browsers, the OS and the presence of other software allowing you to make statistics and controls on the origin of the visitor. Having the opportunity to change this parameter, in practice, it may appear to the "eyes" of a server as another system.

Disabling Google Talk Auto Update

Here is another guide to disable the automatic update of "Google Talk".

  1. Close the "Google Talk"
  2. Open the System Registry using "regedit"
  3. Stand in the path:
    \ HKEY_CURRENT_USER \ Software \ Google \ Google Talk \ Autoupdate
  4. Change the value of key "updateURL" leaving empty

Fine, at this point you can reboot GoogleTalk.

Disable Google Updater v.2

Taking up the guide on how to disable GoogleUpdater described in " Disable Google Updater "public here a second version / guide.

Here are the steps to follow:

  1. Run a search on putting all your Drive as a search key "googleupd *";
  2. Depending on the operating system will be found some files. Usually they are:
    - Google Update - Scheduled Tasks in
    - GoogleUpdate.exe - Application folders of Google software installed on your PC
    - GoogleUpdateHelper.msi - Installation Package
  3. At this point you go to the Operations Pianficate following the path
    Start -> Programs -> Accessories -> System Tools -> Scheduled Tasks
  4. Eliminate scheduled processes of "Google Update"
  5. Now edit the System Registry and position yourself:
    HKCU \ Software \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Run \
  6. Delete the registry key called "Google Update"
  7. Close the System Registry and reboot your PC.
